One day he received a news from his mother-in-law Sardarni Sada Kaur that Raja of Kangra Sansar Chand was planning to attack Batala.
When Maharaja heard this news he took six thousand cavalcades with him and marched towards Batala.
When Sansar Chand heard the news that Maharaja Ranjit Singh was himself leading the forces, he got so frightened that he fled towards the mountains.
After reforming other rebellions he returned back to Lahore. When he reached Lahore he got the information that Nawab of Kasoor Nizamudin had violated the agreement and with the help of crusaders had looted many villages of Maharaja’s territory.
Maharaja did not waste time and he took Fateh Singh Ahluwalia with him and fell upon him violently.
In the fierce pitched battle when Nizamudin perceived that his defeat was certain he hoisted the white flag. He requested the Maharaja to pardon him and promised not to do any mischief again. After getting penalty of war, he pardoned the Nawab.
In those days Amritsar was under the supervision of Bhangi Sardars. One day Maharaja’s secret informer told Maharaja that Bhangi and Ramgarhia Sardars were planning to face Maharaja Ranjit Singh with their united forces.
When Maharaja sent his trusted detectors there he found that information was true. Maharaja at once made preparations to face the attack. It was a habit of Maharaja that he used to take the decisions without any delay and that was main secret of his success.
He took with him Sardarni Sada Kaur and S. Fateh Singh Ahluwalia and proceeded towards Amritsar. He encircled the city and encamped outside the city.
Bhangi Sardars fitted their guns on the walls of the city and opened fire in order to frighten Maharaja Ranjit Singh. But Maharaja and his forces were camping far away from the range of the guns.
The Bhangi Sardars did not come out to fight in the open fields. Ramgarhia Sardars did not turn up to help them.
When the citizens heard that Maharaja Ranjit Singh had encircled the city, they met Akali Phoola Singh and requested him to defuse the combat.
Akali Phoola Singh met both sides and an agreement was signed in a amicable way.
According to the agreement Bhangi Sardars vacated the fort and Maharaja Ranjit Singh allotted them a big landed property for their livelihood.
Amritsar city became a part of the Khalsa Kingdom.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh along with his relatives visited the Harmandir Sahib and paid his homage in reverence. He also offered a large sum of money to Harmandir Sahib and Akal Takhat Sahib.
