text	One day Maharaja Ranjit Singh was intimated by his informer that Nawab Qutab Din of Kasoor and Nawab Muzafar Khan of Multan had been conniving to fight with him, under one banner. He also got information that Nawab Qutab Din was teasing his Sikh subjects very brutally. Maharaja was annoyed to hear it, as he in his kingdom was not vexing anybody in the name of religion. He considered men of all religions equal. He at once sent Faqir Aziz Din to Kasoor to investigate about the alleged conspiracy. But when Faqir Aziz Din reached Kasoor, Nawab Qutab Din disgraced him. Faqir Aziz Din returned back and informed the Maharaja about the actual situation. Maharaja Ranjit Singh was enraged to hear this and he ordered his Generals to invade Kasoor. When the army of Khalsa reached Kasoor, Nawab Qutab Din came out with crusaders and his army to face the forces of maharaja. A fierce battle was fought. Nawab was defeated and he ran back with his army and entered the fort. Maharaja ordered his brave soldiers to explode the walls of the fort with gun powder. During the explosion the wall of western side fell down and Khalsa army at once entered inside the fort. The crusaders tried their best to stop the Khalsa army, but Sikh soldiers overpowered them and captured the fort. Nawab Qutab Din tried to run away, but he was caught alive. When he was broguth before Maharaja, he beseeched again and again to pardon him. The benevolent Maharaja pardoned him and allotted him landed property of the Mamdot area for his livelihood. S. Nihal Singh was appointed as the Governor of Kasoor. After that Maharaja made up his mind to bring to book Nawab Mazafar Khan of Multan. Maharaja took his new forces and marched towards Multan on 15th March 1807. After few days he reached near Multan. They camped outside the city. From there he sent S. Fateh Singh to meet Nawab S. Fateh Singh met Nawab and said, “You have violated the agreement and has conspired against Maharaja alongwith Qutab Din of Kasoor. For these unparadonable offences pay the penalty or be ready for war.” Mazafar Khan was greatly frightened to hear those words of Fateh Singh. He said, “I am very sorry, please pardon my earlier offences and whatever the penalty Maharaja fixes, I am ready to pay.” The benevolent Maharaja Ranjit Singh pardoned such a great offender and asked him to pay Rs. 7700 only as a penalty. He accepted the superiority of Maharaja Ranjit Singh without war. * * *
